Genesis Land and Waterscapes was founded in 2003 by Chad White, a seasoned landscape professional with a passion for creating stunning and sustainable outdoor
environments. With over 20 years of diverse experience, Chad brings a unique blend of expertise and creativity to every project, ensuring that each design is both functional
and beautiful.
Chad’s journey into landscaping began under the mentorship of some of Durango’s most respected landscapers, including Tom Bridge of Durango Nursery and Supply and Brian Kimmel. These formative experiences laid the groundwork for Chad’s deep understanding of the art and science of landscaping. After earning a Bachelor of
Science in Environmental Conservation from Northern Michigan University, Chad expanded his knowledge across various fields, including electrical work, plumbing, tree
farming, sod farming, and management. This diverse skill set allows Genesis Land and Waterscapes to offer innovative, holistic solutions tailored to each client’s needs.
Amanda White is not just a landscape designer; she’s a steward of the environment. With advanced biology degrees and certification as a Colorado Master Gardener, she combines science with artistry to design landscapes that harmonize with nature. Whether you’re looking for plant selection advice, ecological garden planning, or a helping hand in the office, Amanda offers comprehensive support tailored to your needs.
Amanda specializes in planting for long-term growth, focusing on species that support local wildlife and appropriate for the Southwest environment. From vibrant flower beds to lush vegetable gardens, every design emphasizes sustainable practices and biodiversity. As Vice President of the Durango Bird Club, Amanda integrates bird-friendly elements into her designs, ensuring your garden becomes a sanctuary for our feathered friends and pollinators.

We love this part of the process. It's where we get to demonstrate fusing our expertise with creativity and client vision.
We will give you a bid and if cost is more than the budget, then we discuss ways to get as close tot he vision as possible with a more economical approach.
Once we get the final designs and budget in order, we begin the work. There is little more satisfying than finishing a beautiful and project that families get to enjoy for decades.
